In the United States at least, there is no American continent. There is North and South America. The term “America” is used as a shortened way of saying the United States of America. If you think about the name, it sounds like the country would be called America, and is composed of a number of states that are united together. Of course, that may not be the way it was intended to sound (I don’t know), but either way, as I said, America is just a quick way of the United States of America.

As a former United States Marine, it breaks my heart to know what we could have been, what we should have been and what we become. It used to be voting had an effect. These days everyone seems to be controlled by corporate interests who influence if not out right control the entire system. So a citizen has little say in the matter. The system serves the corporations who have no interest in changing it. It’s a government for and by the corporations not for the people, they’re to be herded and appeased with the facade of freedom and a government for them, but it’s a charade to keep them docile. Children in this country are brainwashed into it, forced to repeat the pledge every day at school, forced to write essays about “Why I love living in America”.
