WTC Attack September 11th 2001 NYPD Helicopter records attack just now sufaces This video — shot from an NYPD helicopter as it circled the World Trade Center — appeared on the internet Monday. After a Freedom of Information Act request to the New York Police Department the video was obtained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The almost 17-minute video doesn’t show the collapse of the first tower, but it does provide an audio recording of the officers’ reactions. [Unidentified Officer]: “It’s gone. The whole tower. It’s gone. Holy Crap. They knocked the whole freaking thing down.” [Unidentified Officer]: “It’s down. The second tower is down. Holy. God. Damn. My God.” September 11, 2011, will mark the tenth anniversary of the attack that killed almost three thousand people. The shocking video taken from an NYPD helicopter shows new angles from the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The footage was recently leaked by Cryptome ( cryptome.org ). The 15-minutes of footage is raw video of the towers in flames. The video taken by NYPD was allegedly obtained by the federal government’s National Institute of Standards and Technology under the Freedom of Information Act for the purpose of conducting their 9/11 investigation. Cryptome, a website similar to WikiLeaks, later obtained the footage from an anonymous source and posted it online.
