@iamfreemanontheland Its becoming more important because our daily lives rely on electronic gadgets. If a solar flare shuts down satellites or power grids it can be catastrophic. It wasnt that long ago people didnt have the internet, phones or lights powered by electricity. If we all lived in grass huts and communicate with smoke signals this wouldnt be an issue.

Not concerned about it personally. I haven’t seen a correlation with the filament features being symmetric with any particular Earth change. There could be some very strong quakes 19th-21st will probably do a watch…

*sigh* I don’t know man, the last solar hiccup didn’t cause anything. Sure, there was a massive earthquake around the same time and fires…but there is no definitive proof that these events were caused by that solar flare. This time around, if the same effects happen then I am sold.

if we get blasted by a CME (x class) 1859.. no water, sewage operations shut down, dialysis machines would not work, food production and logistics shut down, electronic circuitry (as in modern automobiles.. fried), atms a thing of the past, satelites gone.. only some deisel generators would work.. maybe some wind turbines.. solar panels (after event).

On august 22 i was driving with a frend in the countryside in Sweden. The sun was setting behind a dark cloudy sky. The only sign of the sun where purple and red stripes coming through the clouds. After some minutes not seeing the horizont we came op on a hill and the sun was out. The clouds and sky around it where intensely scarlet red and purple. The sun had a cirkle in it about 1/3-1/4 the size of the sun. It was like a sun in the sun with a greyish edge and both shining equally bright.
Look how big that fissure is. you could probably fit every planet in that circle.
