I am not saying that is a good thing but in America freedom of speech actually exist and you can say things regardless of how offensive they are. Antagonism and provoking is tolerated, that is why anarchists and others are allowed to protest fiercely in front of G8 and World Bank meetings. That is why the Free Tibet people were allowed to run wild through L.A in 08. Mel Gibson, Richards and Stern were not arrested for what they did so your point is irrelevant. Freedom of speech only applies to the state not the private sector.
He has a martyr complex. He came to our country and broke the law and gave the officers a hard time and harassed people with a loud speaker disrupting an important celebration during a nation holiday, and then he got arrested just like I would have been.
If I travel to America and shout over the loud speaker for people to convert to Islam or burn in hell during his fourth of the july at the capital building I would either be attacked and killed by Americans or arrested and called a terrorist.
He got detained because he was shouting at old women with a loud speaker during Constitution Day disrupting a public rally. I would have been treated much more harshly if I did the same thing in America during the Fourth of July. What the police did here was right, they were reasonable and tried to work with him but he was belligerent and gave them a hard time.
Imagine if I held a loud speaker at Washington DC during Fourth of July and shouted “HAIL SATAN”. What do you think would happen?

Thank you for sticking up for Norway. Most of our police do not even carry guns, and they tried very hard to work with the man in this video but he insisted on giving them a hard time.
He was trying to get arrested, he wants desperately for it to seem like he is being persecuted for his faith but anyone who behaved as this would be treated the same. And look, in this video, how reasonable and polite the police are being, look at how belligerent accusing and insulting he is being.

@MULESLAX Usually, European nations require English in addition to their native languages. These people would be able to speak Norwegian, English, and most likely a little Danish and Swedish. I think that their system of teaching bilingualism is quite ingenious.

@MULESLAX Norwegians natively speak Norwegian, but english is obligatory to learn in elementary and middle school. In middle and high school many also learn yet another language such as french, italian, spanish or german.
