Maryland State Police stopped Anthony Graber for speeding on I-95 at a reported 100 mph — while popping a wheelie on his sport bike. The traffic stop got a little weird when the officer, dressed in plain clothes and driving an unmarked car, busted out of the driver’s door with a drawn handgun. The officer rushed over, grabbed the front of the bike and ordered Graber to get off the motorcycle before identifying himself as a State Police officer and holstering the weapon.
he got lucky the motorcycle driver was in the military, if it was me i would have ran that guy over. you don’t just get out of a car and pull your gun without warning, i would have tried to kill him because i didn’t knew what was going on, so yea this cop got lucky.
Update: Harford County Circuit Court has ruled in favor of the motorcyclist on the wiretapping charge. A Maryland cop has no reasonable expectation of privacy while conducting a traffic stop on a public road. … If anyone finds a documented ruling, rather than news reporters accounts, please post the location…
@david13gaspar No. He didnt get lucky. If a cop gets out of a car like that, gun drawn, and you try to run him over– even if you didnt know he was a cop, his life is threatened, and he shoots you point blank in the face. You’re dead. And the cop is protected.

In all honesty, MD State Troopers are the good ones. Yeah this trooper is an idiot, but in general the MSP are one of the better agencies in the state. Local agencies (County Police, Sheriffs Dept, etc) are a lot worse, and Baltimore City is the worst by far.

Quick update on this situation, All the charges against Graber with regard to the recording were thrown out , The traffic violations stand.
Sounds like it is time to head to that state and file several law suits on any police officer who has a cam on there car and also to any corporation that has cameras pointed all over the place.
The self-important political-hack cops and prosecutors are publicizing that they do not want to be audibly recorded, in case they decide to rob, frame, beat, and or otherwise victimize innocent citizens. These arrogant “law enforcement authorities” could not give a rat’s ass about justice; their only concern is in massaging their god complexes. Most of these pompous, inept, corrupt losers would not qualify to clean toilets in the private sector, where there is actual accountability.
The fact that this innocent motorcyclist was arrested in the first place screams volumes about the contempt that “law enforcement authorities” have for the public. They are far more interested in flashing their imaginary muscles of power than in protecting the public from this “dangerous” audio recorder. These pompous scumbags are clogging up the courts with this ridiculously frivolous case. If the cops are not doing anything wrong, why would they care if they are being recorded?
