This man is arrested while documenting potential abuse of peaceful peace protesters. There was no cause for the arrest other than alleged failure to show ID without suspicion of any other wrongdoing, while videotaping on the State side of Vandenberg Air Force Base. Especially notice the end of the video where the security officer Chew confiscated the video camera. Once before, Chew threatened to falsely arrest the man, which likely explains why the man was handcuffed behind his back when others weren’t. A video of that prior threat will be posted later.
You not detained or arrested. you were apprehended for further questioning. Any LEO anywhere can do that to you. He told you to not point your video recording device in the direction of the base, but you decided you were going to play games with them. you might not have been charged but your freedom of movement was for a short time. Have fun playing with people, one day karma will not be your friend.

I’ve never been to that base, but i’ve been to like 4 others visiting my brother. At every base there is a sign posted saying you may not video tape or take pictures of the base. So yes you were violating laws of the base, thus giving them a reason to detain you. Take your hippy crap to washington. You’re wasting your time at a military base.

You are required to show identification at anytime requested on a military base (that grassy area they are sitting on is base property). Failing provide id is an offense. People don’t seem to understand that a military base rights are not the same as civilian area rights.

Do you not realize that there is no “description” of who poses a threat to National Security and video taping in front of a government installation is a potential threat. When they ask for ID, it is to run a BG check if needed to make sure you aren’t a threat. Your attitude led to your detention. Notice how you were the ONLY one who refused to cooperate?
