A St. Louis police officer was captured on video striking a man repeatedly with a baton and spraying him with pepper spray in the early hours of New Year’s Day, has been pulled off the streets Tuesday. The owner of the gas station, at 1815 Arsenal Street, identified the officer as Dustin Ries, whom he said was working off-duty for him. The owner, Joel Platke, said Officer Ries had worked for several years at the station providing security out of the substation. Police added that no one filed a complaint about the incident and that there were no arrest reports. The department first heard about the video Tuesday morning, after media outlets began asking about it. Ries, 37, of Chesterfield, could not be reached for comment. His attorney, John Bouhasin, declined to comment because of the ongoing internal affairs investigation. Ries has previously been named in two lawsuits accusing him of excessive force. A 2008 federal suit alleged that Ries assaulted two men with his police baton and pepper spray while he was working off-duty at the Big Bang piano bar on Laclede’s Landing in April 2006. Al Johnson, a Clayton attorney for the plaintiffs, said his clients were initially charged with assault but the charges were later dropped. The lawsuit was settled out of court, and Johnson said he was barred from disclosing the amount. “I’m glad he got caught this time, maybe enough to where the police department can fire him,” Johnson said of Ries. A 2005 civil suit in St. Louis alleged …
this makes me sick to think that the people that are out there to protect us are the ones doing the most damage this is bullshit all police officers that attack anyone regardless of their state of mind should go to jail for leading us to beleive that they are there to help us but yet no one knows when it is gunna happen to you…..
i hope something was done…..
@urthstudio I’m sorry I know this looks bad, but I live in St Louis and this city that I love repeatedly gets awarded the honor of being one of the most dangerous cities in America…this year getting top honors…yay for us. I’ve been a victim, my friends have been victims, my customers have been victims and something has to be done. I’ve been in the face of danger when in comes to a sensless crime and I’ve personally wished I had a police baton to beat the shit of the guy that jumped me.
I realize how bad this looks, but I live in St Louis and year after year we get awarded top honors for being on of the most dangerous cities in America. I’ve been a victim, my friends and family have been victims, my customers have been victims and sometimes drastic measures have to be taken. Crime is rampant here and the city police do the best they can. I know when I got jumped for my purse I certainly wish I would’ve had a police baton the beat the shit out of the MF’er that punched me!
:47 second mark guy lights up cigarette at gas pump. BRILLIANT!!!
I like how the fuck in the backseat thinks it’s so fuckin’ hilarious….if only he was the wan getting swung on by a psycho cop!!!!

Bizimkilere Oxsayirlar ele
No wonder there are more and more cops getting shot by citizens on the street.
the man was hancuffed when the officer struck him. It looks as if the man can barely walk he was being resistant eh. lol
This ‘Officer’ Was Off duty. There was no reason to treat him like that. But the ‘Officer’ Was charged and kicked off the police force. TNO
All Cops… Stay out of the courts, Citizens are waking up and they WILL Convict you!
@agkabernathy yeah so you are saying it’s justified somehow b/c you got your purse stolen?
The video is too short and the description is too vague to come to any sort of conclusion. But apparently you morons have already jumped on the anti-police bandwagon and deemed the officer guilty. He is innocent until proven guilty, fools.
What a retard they do this all the times, most of them dont get caught on camera
@urthstud I was in the fucking van in the back seat and I’ll tell you the suspect has the officers leg trying to drag him to the ground also that video look’s like something that came out of National Security. It was a bumble bee judge. Give me a fucking break
@urthstudio this man lost his job
@XforeverlongingX man I was in the van that you see and the officer was defending himself also that video looks like it came out of national security Judge it was a bumble bee. that’s fucking sick
@abcdefg0985 He wasn’t defending himself when the subject was laying on the ground while being beaten. Sorry, you won’t get away with it this time.
@XforeverlongingX
@XforeverlongingX were u there
@preemptivestrike20 Man I was in the van the suspect was kicking and wrapping his legs around the other cop’s leg while he is hitting him. But what you don’t see is the suspect kicking the cop in the chest which is why these fucker’s probably started taping in the first place.
@tnoproductionz He is a cop 24/7.
Fuck all you people that were not there and are acting like assholes right now. Your supporting his job termination from a video that doesn’t even show the fucking suspect getting hit.
man u have to watch those chipmunks fucking man sometimes u just have to beat em with a stick. especially in missouri
@abcdefg0985 No I was not there, and neither were you. It’s clear as anything that the cop is abusing his power. If you don’t see it then you don’t see it and we’ll have to thank allah that you’re not a court judge.
