@fiernocht He alcked probable cause and violated the 2nd and 14th amendments, as well as the laws of the state of Georgia. He gave the definition of the justification for the man to defend himself with deadly force through his actions.

I seriously hope that guy is not still a cop. To use such terroristic vulgar threats like that shows that he probably has mental health issues. I don’t know Georgia law, but here in Florida, we are not required to tell the police officer that we have a firearm with a concealed weapons permit and when he runs our driver’s licenses, it will not show that we have a conceal weapons permit. The law is the law, I thought we paid these clowns to know it on the bases of their duty to enforce it.
When people talk about dumbing down America, I think cops have taken a double dose because they act like they have a head full of nerve endings and no way to control themselves. They do stuff like this and wonder why people don’t like them and don’t trust them, well they can sleep in the bed they made but I bet they do it with one eye open. LOL,
@secuervo Very true. There was already a Supreme Court Ruling about this a couple years ago. I forgot the case #, but this is similar. If this man was legally carrying a firearm and he had not just committed a felony offense, he could have legally used deadly force against this officer when he put a gun in his face and threatened to “Blow his fucking head off”. That’s plenty of a reason to be fearful of your life. This officer needs another job. One without a pistol requirement.
Blah blah blah, he had the right to kill the officer. But what do you think would have happened if he would have tried it? The other officer would have shot him. The civilian was smart not to offer resistance. He can take the manner up in civil court and probably win. It would have been just stupid to try to shoot the officer.

In some states it is the law that if you are legally armed, you must inform a LEO that you are armed if you get stopped. Where I live, there is no such law but there are several states

Brunswick is a small town in southeast Georgia, near the coast. It is incredibly poor. I think the town is about 80% black during the day and 95% black at night. Virtually every house is a shack, worth under $20,000. Drive down any street in the daytime and on every block dozens of blacks sit on the front porch and hang out in the street. Unemployment rate is about 60%. It is a good place to avoid. My guess is bottom of the barrel type cops work there. Avoid the town if you can.

@secuervo If you pay attention to any concealed weapon class the first thing they tell you is to advise a law enforcement officer that you are carrying a weapon in the event of a situation like this. Enough officers have been shot (or shot at, like myself) to not take things like this lightly. The PC was this man had a firearm in his vehicle and did not tell the officer about it. Its not a criminal offense, but its a good way to get a glock in your ear.
@secuervo If he would have tried to “Defend” himself as you put it against the officer of the law, then he runs the risk of getting his face blown off. More importantly you need to learn the law yourself, because apparently you do not understand anything about the 2nd and 14th amendments and how it pertains to an officer of the law. He was not denied the ability to carry the weapon, after clearing the weapon and after the stop was completed it was given back.
@secuervo and as far as the 14th amendment goes, it protects against illegal search and seizures. They were not told about a weapon in the vehicle, or even a concealed carry permit. You sound like a smartass lawyer, that should know about two things: 1) The plain View law. Anything that is illegal in nature seen in plain view by an officer allows the officer(s) to search without consent and without a warrant.
@secuervo 2) Read the 4th amendment too, its got some information you apparently missed in class. For a search to be illegal there has to be some idea of privacy. The seats of a vehicle are not thought of as to be a private place, by any states law. So you need to brush up on your books a little there before a law officer schools you in court. It might help you get a little business when possible clients think they are getting a man that KNOWS HIS STUFF to represent them in court.
not all states require you to let the officer know that you have a legally concealed handgun unless they ask. Some states like Alaska that don’t have permits meaning anyone can legally conceal a gun as long as your not a felon, but the law their requires one to let an officer know right away if you are concealing a legal firearm. I can understand it being night time so the cop is naturally on the defense but, saying he will blow his fucking head off is rediculous.

This, unfortunately, is typical Glynn County police behavior. We have some good cops & a lot of others suffering from Redneck Cop Syndrome, meaning they’ve never earned much respect personally & are now misusing the power that comes with wielding a gun, i.e. “I can make you do whatever I want” and menacing behavior in situations that in no way can be construed as threatening to the officer. The public is not here to help these guys live out their stupid cop show fantasies, or feed their egos.

I hate to say it but the guy in the vehicle should have communicated to the officer that he had a firearm. It’s common sense, cops have dangerous jobs, they don’t like to see guns. That doesn’t mean it is wrong to carry ( I do it all the time). We (carriers) just need to realize that cops are just people, concerned about their safety just like you and I. However the officer was way over the line threatening to blow the mans head off. That is disgusting and I hope he loses his job for it.
