I’d like to point out, though I’m sure it’s known, the cop in uniform that they highlighted holding the gun wasn’t officer in question. They would have to back the tape up a little more to show that it was the detective in civilian clothes that was originally on the scene that pulled his firearm. He was driving an unmarked purple Hummer, and as far as I know he never flashed any credentials, only a gun. He should be so lucky that it’s illegal for a civilian to have a handgun in D.C.
