Ashford told the driver that he saw him stop and would be willing to testify on his behalf in court Well the police officers overheard Ashford’s comment and were pissed off. The cops demanded Ashford’s ID and wouldn’t let him leave. According to his attorney, Will Hart, “They had no reason to stop him or detain him, that’s a violation of his fourth amendment rights,” said Hart. When Ashford tried to take a photograph of the officers to document the incident, both officers pulled his hand behind his back and attempted to arrest him. Ashford resisted, as any innocent man would, and then was slammed into a railing, punched repeatedly in the face and wrestled to the ground. Ashford was charged with resisting arrest, but they were dropped because the police attorney agreed that Ashford’s fourth amendment rights were violated. Anything short of these thugs being fired, arrested, and convicted of assault are unacceptable. I hope he sues them and his employers for millions.
