I won’t be able to change anyones opinions on here. All of you demonizing this officer are just bitter people looking to blame officers and the government for any action they are FORCED to take. The situation is unfortunate and im sure unwanted by the officers. They have lives too. The old womans life is not more important than theirs. They asked her to drop the knife. She failed to comply. Other escalated force could have been an option. An officer gets hurt and noone cares.
You can’t taser an older person due to risk of heart failure. Not more humane. How would it appear if you sprayed her with OC? Would there be less complaining? There is no guiarantee to the effectiveness on spray on all people. I don’t agree with the officer closing distance on the lady with the knife in her hand but surely a higher level of force could have been legal administered but was not.
