The truth about the so called “Trump Slump” BUSTED

Is President Trump actually responsible for the decline in tourism in the United States? Experts say no, Trump haters desperate to make him look bad say yes.

However, a bit of fact checking shows us that international travel to the United States began declining in 2015 during Obama’s reign and it’s been steadily declining ever since. Now, leftist media and Trump haters desperate to find ways of validating their hatred have branded this decline in tourism as the “Trump slump even though it started long before Trump became the 45th POTUS.

The U.S. share of the international travel market declined from 13.6 percent in 2015 to 12.9 percent in 2016. By 2017, it had dropped to 11.9 percent, back to levels not seen since 2010. Remember who had just been elected in 2009? Yep, Obama. So shouldn’t it actually be called the Obama Slump or the Barrack Slump or the BO Slump?

What is the real reason for the Trump Slump? Who knows. Experts have weighed in with varying opinions however most believe it’s largely to do with a strengthening US dollar which makes travel to the United States more expensive for foreigners. Funny that growth of the United States dollar combined with economic growth would make the United States a more expensive tourist destination, but that’s what it would appear to be and not, what the media have coined the “Trump Slump.

By the way, it’s not a decline in tourism from the whole world, as a matter of fact, there’s 4.8% growth in Canadians tourists to U.S. destinations.

And even with less tourism, and by less we are talking small numbers here, about 3.9% reduction which equals about 100,00 visitors. As a comparison, Michigan Stadium has had over 115,000 fans in it’s stand, according to Fred Dixon, president and chief executive officer of NYC & Co., New York’s official tourism organization “The international market overall is expected to decline by about 100,000 visitors this year,” Dixon said. But the number of visitors from Canada is expected to rise 1 per cent to 2 per cent over last year, he said. “That’s a real success story.”

That, along with the fact that not only are American businesses coming BACK to America, but more foreign companies are planning on setting up shop on United States soil, providing jobs, taxes and more.

So, maybe the “Trump Slump” should be called the “Trump Triumph”.
