Do people who believe in a flat earth generally lean more to the left or more to the right politically?

Here’s an interesting commentary by
Geoffrey Whitlock about the political views of people who believe in a flat earth.

I think that generally, flat earthers are apolitical; after all, both left and right wing politics are in on the conspiracy to make the earth’s population believe that the earth is a globe. (It’s never been clear why the conspiracy involves all countries around the globe; why they are all in on it; even between rival or enemy countries.) They believe that all governments are part of the conspiracy, therefore they have no belief in any political ideology.

And then, froma slightly different perspective, whether they actually lean to the left or right would depend on which way they are facing while walking along the 150 ft high ice wall that surrounds the planet, holding the ocean’s water from spilling over the edge. If they’re walking clock-wise, then the safest bet is to lean a little to the right; and if walking countr-clock-wise, then it’s best to lean to the left.…

Politically, flat-earthers would approve any government that would dismantle science departments and give education over to fundamental religionists, who teach that the world is just a few thousand years old, is flat and sits acros four elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle. The whole thing is motionless and, thankfully, the right way up, so that as long as you stay within the Antarctic ice wall you won’t fall over the edge…..

Now, seriously, folks … does anyone actually believe that anyone who believes stuff like that could have the intellectual goods to be politically savvy?
