Assange recorded the entire meeting for transparency. The PBS documentary was incredibly bias and distorted and unfair to the truth of both what Wikileaks does and to the accused leaker Bradley Manning. Before the official interview started, there was a very revealing conversation about Manning that in a subtle way betrayed the agenda of the PBS production. transcript – wikileaks.ch NOTE – scroll to the bottom of the page to see emails between Assange and PBS in which they promise to not distort the issues. this promise was broken.
@sesmalife i think he understood perfectly. i think he was trying hard to not show himself up. he was being very guarded during that first section. and the body language too. he knows he’s been unfair and he knows how serious it is.
@SkidRowRadio If you listen to the pbs interviewer carefully he retracts his words often, body language (drinking water nervously) and how he ignores Julians point more than once. Julian continuously steers him onto point and while he might have a understanding of what he is asking Julian, he still does not understand the bigger picture of wikileaks. Like he said ‘im interested in the handling of information’ versus ‘the distortion of the political climate’. Big difference.
@SkidRowRadio The PBS interviewer obviously is intimidated by Julian by his body language and the words that come out of his mouth. Julian over and over has to steer this rookie on point. Like the interviewer said ‘im only interested in the passing of information’ versus what Julian said ‘the distortion of information in the political climate’. Big difference. Julian attempts to educate him on how the media creates false and misleading stories because of journalistic styles or agendas.
<3's that Julian is doing this interview in his socks xoxo
Ugh, watched this twice and I still believe to this day that Julian is a massively paranoid douchebag. I mean, he forces the direction of the interview with a constant stream of irrelevant discussion. His language during the entire time was evasive, almost (Definitely) making it seem as though he’s telling us a lot less than he really knows, which is comparable to lying. You guys mention body language, just look at him tensing up all the time.
I support Wikileaks, but JA is a dick.
martin smith comes across as such a pompous douche bag it almost makes
me question if i really want to continue watching PBS at all. between their endless
begging for money, and pompous douche bags like smith, THAT is NOT what PBS is supposed to be like
visit me to watch me
@WikiSecrets Thanks
with the kids voices @29.59 , bang on cue. i wondered what the reason behind suddenly needing a differing “behind the scenes “ format. In order to prove respectability, wrongfoot the rumours and offset those in the audience who will be parents and will be wondering, they needed to shoehorn kids voices into the interview. If someones on to someone- but they hear that person is a family person- got kids- they immediately give up harbouring bad feelings about someone,
regardless of what type of person they are (theres been studies done on this irrational parent-to-parent empathy syndrome).
A properly edited video-like all of assange’s youtube vids so far- is supposed to have background noise weeded out of it, so how could they justify the sudden impetus of getting the kids voices heard IN to it? … “i know, lets do a plausibly deniable ‘behind the scenes’ interview’-even though we hitherto haven’t done that before- that will fool ‘em, and then
or some unknown reason, put out that rough outtake on the internet.†…. “Also, is there a trampoline or any large children- orientated-scenic toys lying around that we could use as props just to get the message over? Maybe theres a blow up bouncy castle somewhere, or a kiddies face-painter or an organ grinder with a little monkey just happening to walk by and keep in the range of audio & vision. Cos were just normal family people that other taxpaying families can relate
to just fitting our normal day to day routines around assange, crapping on about being a rapist and blackmailing leaders and terrorism, don’t you know?†. lol.
@Nogli . i know. its like these are the answers he can just pluck out of thin air- indicating hes an undisputed genius. No way is any of this planned or pre scripted , you can tell that just from the way theyve tried to make it look so Out- takey. Theres the proof right here, Assange is some sort “thinking on his feet” einstein.
I want to fuck Julikan Assange that would best
17:17 Assange’s socks
The arrogance of Assange the wants to decide what information the American people should have. Has wikileaks released any secrets of the enemy? If not why not?
@IamtheBurceDickenson no, he hasnt decided. the US and other Govs have decided. he was a recipient of info FROM a gov insider. the same as all other media who have received leaks in the past, like the pentagon papers.
and it aint just about the american people, this shit affects the whole world.
who is ‘the enemy’ exactly? do u mean terrorists? do u mean al queda? well obviously not, since that would require a member of al queda to GIVE HIM INFO. #derp
@SkidRowRadio I am talking about how he wants PBS to censor information about Manning that we have a right to know. He wants the news reports spun his way -that is the arrogance of Assange I am talking about. How do you know they haven’t gotten any information from inside terrorists circles?. It would be interesting to maybe submit some caputured enemy material under the guise that it came from a leaker in the terrorit group give it to wikileaks and see what they do with it.
@IamtheBurceDickenson the Manning info he argued was not news worthy was more salacious details about his personal and family life. not relevant to anything in this issue. PBS have repeatedly painted a picture of a fractured soul, unable to control himself. Manning had clear political and constitutionally sound motive (if the chat logs are genuine).
@SkidRowRadio It looks to me like the facts painted that picture and PBS was presenting those facts. I’m for letting information be known and then letting the pubic decide it is important to them or not. I think it speaks a lot to his motive for prehaps betraying his country and his fellow soldiers. I think it brings up serious questions about what is wrong the Army that they would allow someone like Manning to have access to this information.
@IamtheBurceDickenson “someone like Manning” what do you mean by this? a gay person? what?
you know what betrays your country? the official making the decisions to enter into and perpetuate illegal, immoral wars. the officials manipulating the world stage for nefarious, and fascist purposes. the officials keeping secrets, not for national security but to protect their reputations.
@SkidRowRadio Although it may not have been the wisest thing to do there was nothing illegal about war with Iraq. Saddams violations of the first gulf war cease fire were sufficent legal grounds under international law and the whole thing was authorized by congress. Hard to see how we can be accused of promoting faschism when the Baath party are auctual faschists. And by “someone like Manning” you know what I mean if you saw the PBS report -wrong to allow acces to that to that stuff to a PFC.
@IamtheBurceDickenson those were not the reasons given for the 2nd iraq conflict. shit, leon panetta just said we went there cos of 9/11! lol
but anyway, yea technically it was *made* legal. but it was based on a lie. WMDs.
there were 3million people given full access ot SIPRnet. the loose nature of the system is not the fault of manning. eventually, someone with a conscience was gonna do this.
It’s not like Assange/ Manning called Hitler and warned him about the D day attack or gave Russia top secret weapons plans or gave Japan the design of big boy pre Hiroshima. These guys brought to light, war crimes and embarrassed the US government and put the military industrial complex and Financiers of war at risk of losing their cash cow. They are heros, and the politicians, banks and MIC are zeros.
I like the fact that an 18 yr old PFC has opened the lid on world diplomacy & the myriad of shenanigans associated with it — I think he kicked started The Arab Spring!
