AssociatedPress–December 05, 2010–WikiLeaks’ founder Julian Assange turned increasingly to Switzerland on Sunday, dodging a barrage of threats online and in the real world to keep access to a trove of US State Department cables under a Swiss Web address.Copyright Associated Press 2010 § 107.Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include — (1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; (2) the nature of the copyrighted work; (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work. @1mealperday thanks much for commenting
@davincij15 it’s just nuts… and rather spooky
@GuildF40 it is rather like an old spy movie… only it would take place in the Soviet Union, not the US:(
@NicosMind oh no, don’t be disappointed in yourself
@zalida100 I saw it:( i hate it when they put vids up front… but there’s nothing i can do about it … thanks for your comments B
@fal2grace Well im suppose thats going too far. No one can see the future. Got an email off to them telling them i will never use them again and why. If i used paypal i would do the same.
Theres plenty of local book shops that i can order off. Good to give money to local business and all :)
@NicosMind It is a great idea to support your local businesses.
the tenticles of the fascist government of the USA stretch far and wide.. these companies and countries that pander to the USA do not realize how they are contributing to the nefarious actions of this terrorist nation. they wage war for no reason but rationalize their behaviour and paint every decentor as unamerican or unpatriotic.. what bullshit.
@navtel very eloquent navtel…
It’s going to be quite an accomplishment if Julian Assange can avoid arrest for very long; the MIC is exerting quite a bit of effort to catch him. I wish our leaders understood that those who support him do so because they assess that very leadership to be totally untrustworthy, not because they have a baseless animosity toward the government. Oh well, I wish I’d win the Publisher’s Clearing House sweepstakes too . . .
@Tigerpaws9097826 :) Thanks T. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you winning the sweepstakes.
@gwellyn2
Never hero worship a person, instead point out the freedoms the government is trying to take and what he is fighting for point out how brave he is and how you would like to be as brave as he is when it comes to fighting the government for your freedom.
@fal2grace Ha! Thank you, D.

Censorship reflects society’s lack in confidence in itself. It is the hallmark of an authoritarian regime; when truth is no longer free, freedom is no longer real.
so much for freedom of speech! the public has the right to know how crooked our gov is. we have the right to know the truth, after all, we’re paying for it!
@donniebrasco24 that’s a very good point donnie… we pay for our gov’t … and they’re supposed to work for us!!
@Blexieblexie excellent, excellent comment… so true. thank you.
Someone is awfully scared of Julian… lol! *whistles*
@Airave yep they are
Sure are making it tough on them. Great to see our American businesses still have a back bone though, oh wait. No, nevermind. Looks like the host is pointing at a server in Texas now. Hahah, let’s see how the lone star state holds up against government pressure and money pressure.
Thanks, D
WikiLeaks releases secrets about the US military in the middle east and no real action is taken, but when WikiLeaks says they are going to release info about the banking industry all hell rains down on them. Just goes to show who’s really in charge of world affairs.
@SouthernKudzu You are absolutely right!!
@bweazel :) maybe Texas’ll have a backbone:)
@fal2grace it’s far too late to stop this – not only are the full archives online but some encrypted files are in there and it’s all torrents. Spreading all around the world in a vast decentralized “citizens vs elite scoundrels” info-war.
These critical encrypted files can be shared by anyone. I don’t know yet who can open them but if we’re lucky we’ll all be given keys in time.
