Ghaziabad Development Authority’s (GDA)Gangotri tower on the Delhi-UP borders has been described in Indian media as UP governments’s worst concrete slum. An estimated 120 (out of 440) of its flats are unsold and corrupt GDA men ‘rent’ them out illegally as part a continuing scam of making large sums of illegal money. An estimated 15 of these unsold flats are given rent-free to corrupt policemen in return for their assistance in containing troublesome ‘tenants’. In this video, a legal tenant has called for police help to evict an illegal occupant of his flat. The police arrive and discover that the criminal involved is one of those who help them with their ‘free’ accommodation. They pretend to ‘investigate’ and then leave without taking any action!
Only a law-abiding Police force can enforce law and order. All Police officers must wear their ID badge. That is a must.
Policemen without their number or name are dodgy, to say the least!!!
Only Policemen about to be engaged in illegal activities will refuse to wear their ID badges when, presumably, on duty. That is what is happening here!
This kind of deep-rooted corruption must be dealt with by a dedicated anti-corruption force.
