The United States demands a degree of secrecy concerning foreign policy that would not be tolerated if applied to any other aspect of government. Is it to protect national security? Or the government from scrutiny?

Jack, you never fail to please. You’re blunt, straight forward analysis of every important issue facing this country should serve as a model for American conservatives.
Kind of hypocritical for me to say this, being against pretty much all necessary government, but they should really make a law against compound bills.
It has been shown the wikileaks was supported by Israel..go figure. They will use it as a tool to restrict free speech and censor the web..what do you know..go J-Team!!
@Akatam0t0ma nope
@xleax:
Well, it’s not Wikileaks that started wars it cannot finish, bailed out failing banks for trillions of dollars, suffocated the American economy with millions of rules and regulations,counterfeited trillions of dollars,started a war on drugs which lead to incarceration of millions of otherwise innocent people,just to mention the tip of the iceberg. It were the politicians,whom we all know care so much about our safety and well being,right? But hey, let’s all just shoot the messenger.
Dude you are awesome! Amazingly incisive. So, how long before our government starts supressing messages such as yours by labeling them as treasonous and rounding us up?
Vulgas vult decepi – phaedrus
@Akatam0t0ma seems to me you’re just rationalizing treason and espionage.
What good do you think has come out of this?
@xleax:
The good that comes out of this is that it confirms that our politicians are a bunch of lying weasels who cannot be trusted. I find it quite hilarious(And frankly, a bit frightening) seeing the same Bush “conservatives” who would claim they don’t trust the government, defending it with such a shrill enthusiasm on this, which only goes to show that Bush “conservatives” are as statist as their welfare-state worshiping “liberal” counterparts. They just make the warfare-state denomination.
@xleax:
Also, since Assange is NOT an American citizen, he cannot be charged with treason(A very problematic concept on its own, when it comes to the state but that’s another can of worms).
The Truth About Wikileaks:
watch?v=AV5N_2nuYzY
I would love to see any Bush “conservative”, or anyone else who foams at the mouth for Assange’s blood trying to address the arguments brought by Molyneux on the government.
Shoot him on sight.
@Akatam0t0ma – schmuck…how many Iranian Olympic fencing champions are there in Iran? One was just outed by wikileaks. Seriously…how big do you think the pool of possible suspects could that leave the Iranian intelligence apparatus to pick up. Hmmmmm. Less than one hundred? More like less than 2. This guy is most assuredly DEAD.
“By Jack Hunter” Dropping the Southern Avenger pen name?
@Akatam0t0ma I know. I was thinking espionage and he’ll probably get convicted.
It’s still unclear to me what good has come out of this (any actual example).
All I’m saying is that diplomatic relationships have been compromised, and people who will want to tell al-qaida whereabouts are less likely to do so, knowing that a second wikileaks might happen.
If you tolerate bad behavior more will come. I’d put this guy behind bars.. not only that I’d find that annonymous hacker and jail him too!
America is already in the toilet.
@xleax:
“If you tolerate bad behavior more will come”
I agree, that is why it’s important to know when our government is behaving badly. Without an understanding of the way our government functions self-government becomes all but impossible.
Sorry, but I can’t help but feel that your frustration may be misdirected.
god bless
@GordonofSeattle Sure, feel that way, but there’s way to many negatives with this wikileaks concequences to think it’s a good thing.
If the US gov’t wasn’t so prone to lying then we wouldn’t need wikileaks. After lying about weapons of mass destruction the gov’t has lost all credibility.
So what did wikileaks reveal? That civilians are dying? We did not know that before? I mean It`s been a huge topic long before wikileaks came out…..
@notusmc67427:
It may have not revealed anything too earth-shattering(At least not yet), but by providing hard evidence to the public, it just left the state-worshipers with less excuses to justify their indefensible positions, especially in light of the reaction by the politicos, from both parties.
One of the best conservative commentators out there. hats off to you sir.
@Akatam0t0ma justify what undefendable position? The fact that we are in afghanistan because there are a lot of great reasons why we are there. The fact is that wikileaks has done more to put people at risk than exposing any great secrets. Name one thing released that has made you think any differently about any topic?
@notusmc67427:
“justify what undefendable position?”
I don’t… Like the position that politicians care about our well being? A pretty popular yet completely unfounded position in the populous, virtually comparable to religious faith.
And I am yet to see a shred of evidence of any leak endangering anything beyond the undeserved prestige of politicos.
@notusmc67427:
“Name one thing released that has made you think any differently about any topic?”
Like I said, so far the leaks did not reveal anything too earth-shattering, only provided solid evidence to previously held popular suspicions. But it’s the reaction of the politicos and their lackeys among the press and among the general populous, who preferred to shoot the messenger rather than come clean of their dirty laundry. That is the most revealing thing of all in the drama.
@Akatam0t0ma Of course they care about the voter. They may not have 100% interest in getting all the facts presented, just watch a political campaign.
Well I personally know a family of turkmen who are under house arest and are in danger of disapearing. Also the taliban has sworn veangance on those afghani`s who gave info and while they may not be presently threatened The taliban will most likely make good on it`s threats when we leave.
Are they still pushing the Bull Shit About Assange? Wiki is a Mossad which is a CIA like black opts, This is an attempt to rob Americans of the Internet & Freedom of speech. This is just another FALSE FLAG OPs
