The 16th of December climate activists and civil society, mainly from the Global South, were marching to the Bella Center to criticize the lack of democracy and transparency of the COP15. They were brutally attacked by the police forces who used pepperspray, teargas and sticks to intimidate and physically harm the people.
This is a shame to democracy in Denmark
Reclaim the power for this bunch crusties, I hope not. You are so wrong about the climate. 1 volcano produces more greenhouse gasses than the whole of mankind. By the way more CO2 is needed to grow bigger stronger crops. You are the Fasists
“we are peaceful, let us thru” seriously, would police allow hundreds of people to get acces the confernce area? they must be joking -.- Now lets think that police would have let them thru and get into the area, what would have been happen if some of the protesters throws a rock into the politics? how many would throw a rock too?
First off the volcano part isn’t true, search Google for “Global carbon dioxide emission to the atmosphere by volcanoes “. I agree with your opinion but if you’re going to argue it at least use real facts. Like the fact that it’s nearly impossible to find data for the last 9 years. Or that the official co2 data is taken from on top of a fucking volcano that emits co2 constantly. The stink of sulfur (one smellable byproduct of magma burning, the other is CO2) can be detected from miles away.
They are saying “We are peaceful what are you??”… as a way of trying to get those guys in blue to think about what they are doing… using violent against non-violent people.
Well, the police should at least have let the delegates from the Center use their feedom of movement and join the protest so that we could have our “people’s meeting”. But no, they decided to beat them up as well and indirectly contribute to the risk of millions of deaths in poor countries over the world.
okay, one person seems to shout “let us thru” too… but well, the “official” chant is the one that I mentioned… :)
any nobody would throw any rocks… It was a peaceful protest you know? And despite the police provocation and violence I did not see a single person even trying to defend himself by beating them back.
