A little video that I saw on facebook, I am not happy with the way the situation was dealt with and I am of the opinion that the officer that pulled out his firearm endangered the public and put innocent lives in danger by pointing his loaded firearm at the crown (the officer further slipped which also added to the dangerous situation). I personally think that the officer that pulled the gun should be fired and never allowed to carry a firearm in Trinidad. What do you guys think? Post below if you think the cop should be immediately fired or he did a good job. PS I did also notice a few plastic bottles being thrown at the officers after the gun incident which could have further escalated the situation, I do not condone such action. Notice at .53sec where the officer gabs the guy in his rib-cage with his baton.
Note that the guy had surrendered and was not posing a threat to anyone.
stinking mothercunt police
I believe, like most POLICE today – they OVER-REACT.
The man who was obviously arrested, was not causing damage to person or property. POLICE are so heavily armed now, and it seems obvious, that they feel frustrated, unless they can find an excuse, to use some of this lethal equipment.
He should be “suspended with pay” – this is usually the punishment for most POLICE brutality and misconduct in NORTH AMERICA.
He definitely, did not, do a good job – thanks to his comrades for subduing him.
while I agree that the officer over reacted, I do not share the views of the masses on why it happened. Trinis are becoming a bit too disrespectful toward the police. It’s like everyone has a vendetta of some sort against them. So they apprehended the Ras who was basically playing the arse at an international event. At the end of the day, they did their job to preserve law and order in doing so. The crowd’s response was to boo and jeer at the officers with some even throwing objects at them.
Was that right? Should the police have left the man to continue doing something that he obviously knew was wrong? Come on T&T. We can’t fix crime by condoning petty wrongs. That approach is exactly what got us in this mess. So the police could have handled it differently, but so could the spectators. Two wrongs don’t make not even an iota of right!
Typical Trinidad Police arrogant and trigger happy.Imagine if nobody was around what they would have done.
@cinnabun23 Yes the Ras should have been arrested “but” if you observe closely he willingly surrendered and did not pose a threat to anyone yet he was still struck by the officer with the baton which is called unnecessary force and is against the law hence why the crowd reacted in the way that they did also carrying a firearm is a serious responsibility and pointing it at the crowd was just crossing the line. No reset button on a life and accidents do happen.
@5029 Respect is something earned and the police unfortunately have a very bad track record in Trini land. PR training comes to mind, those officers were simply very unprofessional.
Serious use of unreasonable force by the officers against the man and the crowd. Wake up people. If it was a cute hot girl nobody wold baul police doing their
job.
plz note at 2.51 secs, the senior officer in that group pushes the stupid triggerhappy police officer bcuz he realizes that he is doing shit.
why did the officer draw his weapon??? i was at the game too and there were metal detectors at the gates so there is no doubt that rastaman could have have been armed….. i also noticed when they first got to ras, the second ‘ polass’ hit him wid the baton……. that was highly uncalled for… maybe this video should go to ian alleyne to be highlighted on crime watch or should i say, ‘police watch’
Obviously not very well trained
@5029 What would have been the charge? Bad dancing in the rain?
lol he held the gun sideways like a G…lol
@sinfuldavy0 In Trinidad the police like to hit you for what I like to call a 3 for 1, when you did not do anything serious and they are just pissed off they usually charge you for “obscene language”, “resisting arrest” and “obstructing an officer in carrying out his duties” whether you did the crime or not with hopes that at least one charge sticks when they take it to court.
@ArunVevo lol I wonder if that’s a hint about his training or background?
@5029 Doesn’t bahaviour like this sets us back in the eyes of the world culturally as a third world country. This is so backward. I am hoping the higher authorities in the ministry would see this as embarrassing to the image of the country as a whole.
@sinfuldavy0 I agree 100% unfortunately when last have you seen a police officer held accountable for his actions in Trinidad?
@5029 I am trini by birth but it still bothers me to see and hear negative things about my country
he fail real bad dey yes…smh…
this is jus ridiculous!!!!!! like them wanted to break the man hand or wt?!
monkey with ah gun!! fucking babylon boops!! that is the only form of respect he can get, that derived from pointing a firearm at innocent people. The boops have short man syndrome, he vex cuz the ras twice he height. He stumbling with gun like a fuckin imps too
Wow 3 officers to arrest 1 man yet when there is an actual crime the police are are practically useless.
