I am from a small town south of Macon, GA. I was there when happen. These men were getting into people faces, would not let people walk by, and telling parents that thier children are going to hell. The Macon police did their job. If these men wanted to make an impact they should have gone to the Street Party not a carfts and art festival. If you were there you wouldnt be praising these men you would be ashamed of them. Ask to see the whole video before you judge the police.
Don’t judge until you hear the other side. These people were loud, boisterous, and using inappropriate language for a family friendly event. You try explaining “burn in hell” and “damnation” to an 8 year old, that’s what I had to do after walking by this group. You have the right to free speech, not the right to yell at the top of your lungs, disturb the peace, and scare children.

the Constitution is not there to protect POLITE speech……. you have the right to be offended, but you have no right to silence someone.
You don’t have to agree with them, and you always have the right to leave……. perhpas you should have left the area if you were so upset?

@KCUAC , I have a very good understanding of the Constitution, but, unlike you apparently, I also understand laws and statutes that have also been passed. People have the right to talk about any subject they wish, you can not however yell profanities in public, huge difference! You can discuss combustion, you can not yell “Fire” in a crowded theater. Would you be ok with this person screaming outside of your house at 3am?

@GAflooringguy: Since when are children above the First Amendment? If more kids heard this kind of preaching, they wouldn’t become the little hoodlums that parents like you are raising them to be! As far as yelling at the top of his lungs, you’re exaggerating. I preach, so I know when a preacher is “yelling.” He was just raising his voice to be heard by those in a 50 ft. radius.

@tonykeywest05 – Point 1-They were using profanity, I was there, I heard them; Point 2 – I was trying to make a point so that illiterate morons like you could understand a concept. The “yelling fire in a theater” is a common “word picture” used to explain this concept in Civics or Law classes. Never mind…
@TheTruthCanHurt Thank you for the educated and civil reply, this is what America was based on… the open exchange of ideas. This was a test to see how many civil replies would be received to just one concept ” can you see the other person’s side?” I agree that if more people would turn TO God instead of away the world would be a better place.

@GAflooringguy Maybe you should have replied to those preachers in a more “educated and civil” way then. I can see your side, but it’s unbiblical. Jesus commanded us to go and PREACH the gospel to every creature – including children. People already ARE turned away from God. The Bible says they’re hostile, enemies, God-haters and children of the devil! As we point this out, hopefully they’ll be convicted by the Holy Spirit of sin, righteousness and judgment. Hopefully they’ll repent and believe!
@GAflooringguy God IS love, but He’s also holy and just. You can’t spread half truths, man! That’s the problem with the Bible Belt. For too long the churches have spread half truths, reaping a “harvest” of unconverted, unbiblical church members. Southern churches are at least half full of false converts who need to be awakened with Matt. 7:22-23.

Did you know that the muslims are now excersing that same amendment to grow in numbers? Did you know as churches in the USA close one by one that the muslim religion is growing exceptionally fast? Hell yeah! Whites are about to become minority, and islam will become a predominant religion.

@TheTruthCanHurt -I didn’t reply, I quickly took my child away from people who were yelling about “burning in hell” and “damnation”, and yes, I know the difference between yelling and projecting your voice. You came across a little judgemental when you wrote about “southern” churches, but I agree, I’ve seen hypocrites in churchs, southern AND northern. In any “social” group, there will be people who join for looks. I believe these preachers actually hurt Christianity by turning folks away.
