Here in Australia we don’t get arrested for this, we get a fine and your car gets impounded. So why did these cops do that to this guy?
Here’s a tip, don’t drive like a moron risking every other motorist lives and you won’t get an ass kicking from the Police.
To make sure he doesn’t drive away again as soon as the cops get to the door.
The guy drove like a fuckwit, he got what he deserved. MrTechSpec, try getting arrested and charged depending on what you’ve done.

He obviously tried to run, then decided to stop the car. Why did he stop? the officers don’t know, maybe the guy thought he would fire a shot or two at the officers and then be able to make a get away. You don’t honestly expect the officers to walk up to the window for a friendly chat do you? By acting swiftly and decisively they limit the options the crook has to do something stupid that could get himself or the police hurt or killed.
No you will find that you will be arrested and charged for this!

Alot of you people are incredibly ignorant as to how these situations work.
A family member of mine is in the police force so I have a good understanding how they handle different situations.
The utmost caution has to be taken when apprehending people after pursuits because if they’ve expressed intent already to escape, then whats to say they don’t have a weapon on them and intend to use it? Using such force is merely a safety precaution, what if that driver had a knife with him?

Yes in Aus we do get fined / lose your licence / car impounded for certain degrees of excessive speeding, but this guy was speeding & evading police, creating a high speed pursuit in suburban streets.
This police action was completely called for!

What about the other motorists on the road? He endangered numerous lives. I’m sure you wouldn’t like you family to be killed by this guy and would want him off the road. Or was that you in the car? and you’re pissed off you got caught?
Did you miss the part how he drove recklessly to evade arrest? i think you must have mr tech spec.. If he just stopped when the police signalled he wouldve copped a fine and drove on. instead he chose the wrong way to do it and felt the force of the NSW police. They dont muck around when your in the wrong mate, understand that.
