Medicare to pay for FDA approved handgun? It’s possible, if a doctor can right a prescription than it may be billable to a medical insurance provider, only time will tell.
FDA TO APPROVE A HANDGUN FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
A “Handgun for the Handicappedâ€
The single-shot gun, dubbed the Palm Pistol, is “an adaptive tool that allows someone otherwise incapable of handling a revolver or semiautomatic weapon to operate one,” said Matthew Carmel of Constitution Arms, the New Jersey-based company developing the gun.
Thanks to the gun’s designation as a medical device, doctors could eventually write prescriptions for it and then be reimbursed by Medicare.
The Palm Pistol is a single-shot firearm designed for the elderly or disabled who may lack the manual dexterity or strength to fire a regular gun in moments of self-defense. The firing pin is released by pressing a button with the thumb rather than the index finger.

Handicapped, yes. Defenseless, Never. Self defense is a human right.
[..YouTube..] I never said our guns were the solution against today’s tyranny. I said that the 2nd, back in the day, assured that the Rights spelled out in the 1st were protected.
The Gun Owners of America is the only gun rights group I have any respect for.
The only chance America has is our law enforcement and military who swore an Oath to uphold the Constitution. You should watch the 10 minute OathKeepers presentation here on youtube to see what I’m talking about.

Look up BUNAC as a student you can get a work visa to the UK for 6 months.
When I worked there was a serious under reporting of many acts of violence
due to a lack of confidence in police. Another reason was the boys will be
boys mentality called hooliganism. And if you bother to report the
impression is nothing gets done so why bother. There is a book in the works
called, “Silent Scandal,” about under-reporting of crime on elderly in the
UK.

[..YouTube..] Your profile says you’re an American, yet you “transcribe” reports of domestic violence in the UK.
What does that even mean?
You claim that domestic assaults are underreported in the UK compared to the USA.
Why wouldn’t a domestic abuse case worker in the UK press charges against an abusive spouse?
I find your claim really difficult to believe.

[..YouTube..] So if you’re saying that gun ownership does not determine crime rates, why does the gun lobby and every gun advocate say that guns deter crime and that “more guns equal less crime?”
It’s always one of the first arguments made by gun advocates. Are they wrong?

I’m neutral about gun ownership. The gun lobby is no different than tobacco
lobby really. They both just have one purpose; to convince people to buy
their product. It’s sad that you think your gun is defending you against
tyranny. Tyranny has tanks, stealth fighters, massed infantry, nuclear
bombs. You are delusional if you think your guns are some kind of defense
against that kind of firepower. This isn’t the 19th century anymore. You’re
offering a crazy solution to a real problem.

So murders aren’t reported in the UK, or they are reported as something
other than a violent crime? What about rapes? Robbery? Mugging? Assault?
Those crimes are all “reported differently” in Europe than they are here in
the USA? European’s are padding their stats? Please! England is the most
closely surveilled society in the world with cameras on practically every
corner. That is a blatant lie that police only come if someone is
“seriously injured.”

[..YouTube..] In the UK, I transcribing reports of domestic violence. Case workers are called before police. A person has to be seriously injured for the police to be called in. So many acts of violence never make it into any criminal statistics. In the US the police are called first so there is greater charge rate and reporting. With direct knowledge of both systems. I would say you can’t trust a comparison due to the different reporting methodology.

I am a gun owner, I own several, I go hunting etc. But I own them for home
protection aswell. If you plan on carrying a gun around a person must be
prepared to kill someone. You can carry the gun all you want but if it
comes down to you and them and you can’t see yourself killing someone else
then you don’t need a gun. Carrying a gun will most likely increase the
chance of you getting shot. People get shot usually because they get
involved in things they should not be dong.

[..YouTube..] “I’m not advocating gun control.” or “…don’t pretend that the gun lobby does not use twisted crime deterrence to push gun ownership.”
Please clerify your stance. Are you for gun ownership but against gun lobbies?
My Constitutional rights to Life, Liberty, Speech etc. would be dead without my right to defend them.
The 2nd Amendment was given to ALL Americans to defend ourselves against TYRANNY, not so we could shoot deer.

If other factors, poverty among them, have a greater affect on crime then
gun availability then that is one of the reasons you cant claim the
differences in crime rates as evidence that guns do not deter crime. The
other factors muddy the waters.

NYC (for example) has made the penalties for carrying a gun more stringent
over the last 20 years or so…… and the crime rate has plummeted.
Correlation? Maybe….maybe not. But I can guarantee you that if you
compared a map of poverty levels in the United States with a map of violent
crime rates you would find a direct correlation.

Crime would be even worse here if America was disarmed. After the recent
gun bands in the UK and Australia violent crime went up in both countries.

[..YouTube..] Niles, next time read what I write before you have a knee jerk spasm attack reaction.
I’m not advocating gun control. I think those decisions should be left to states and localities. What works well for NH and VT might be a whole lot different than what works for NYC.
I never said anything about gun free zones. Nothing! Don’t put words in my mouth.
And don’t pretend that the gun lobby does not use twisted crime deterrence to push gun ownership.
They do, and they are wrong.

[..YouTube..] Awesome
Actually it would be far more instructive to see a violent-crime (come on,
I don’t think guns have a measurable impact on red-light running or
speeding) VS gun-laws visualization superimposed on a US map. Places like
MA, NJ, CA and NYC would also be interesting to compare to Salt Lake City,
Albuquerque, Tallahassee, Houston and Phoenix. IOW, I doubt your metrics
are entirely correct.
1. Gun ownership is just one of the plethora of factors that affect the
crime rate. Gun ownership can deter crime but be overwhelmed in the
statistics by the other factors. 2. It is crazy hard to compare crime rates
between countries. The differences reporting standards and practices make
it a nightmare. 3. No one is asserting that gun ownership is a complete
solution to crime. People being able to defend themselves probably helps.
Ending the drug war would help immensely.
Nice presents. These are good people.
Guns don’t deter crime. If they did the USA would by far be the safest most
crime free country in the world. 1/3 of all guns in the world are owned by
Americans. There are 90 guns for ever 100 people in America, way way more
than any other country. And yet our crime rate is much higher than our
European counterparts and other industrialized 1st world countries. I have
no problem with people exercising their 2nd amendment rights. But let’s not
pretend that guns are the solution to crime.
Awesome, they’re not even free state project participants.
