Legalise drugs, and all the gangsters with guns will just run around jacking up the price of something else, like food. The problem is syndicates with huge amounts of force capability. Legalising drugs won’t remove their force capability.

@blooda55 I didn’t mention regulation, my point is that there are cartels in the US, Mexico and elsewhere with large quantities of military weapons, who use their weapons and force to (among other things) move drugs. part of what they do is using that force to prevent other players from moving drugs, helped along by the DEA and Rangers who take out their competition, hence jacking up the price. If you make narcotics legal, then they might as well be price-fixing fruit and vegetables or weapons.
Drug cartels are using car bombs in Mexico now too! Cartels have begun to resort to terrorist attacks!

definitely agree, as long as US keeps marijuana illegal, the price of weed will be high, witch means profit for the fuckin cartels. But if you think about, if weed is legalized, the fukin cartels will be running the coffeshops no doubt my mind.
If Mexico could not only legalize but also cultivate marijuana (and coca and opium) and use that money to research addiction and open some serious and sophisticated drug detox/rehab clinics, they’d be ahead of the rest of the world and maybe the rest of us would follow suit. Heroin sold at 7-11? No. Only a doctor/clinic could provide coke, heroin, meth, to proven addicts. Mexico could be a superpower in the world of neurology, pharmacology and psychiatry.
