Read Joseph Stiglitz’s book “Globalisation and it’s discontents” AN excellent book, easy to understand, Stiglitz really does a good job of explaining the corruption of the IMF and economic crisis in Asia in the late 90’s. A must read!!!

you have to take nobel prize winners, particularly in economics, with a grain of salt. Economics is closely coupled with political thought and nobel prizes typically go to communists.
chris the nobel prize is established for exceptional minds, these people represent the finest that man has to offer in thinking. generally the nobel prize represents a phenomenal discovery or set of data from an exceptional intelligence. I am pretty sure Hawking is no communist in fact I am sure most of these esteemed minds arent overtly socialist. That being said America only things its a democracy, and truly it isnt.

This economist simply found key components that were overlooked. It was a deserved award. True that we dont have the davinci minds around anymore but we have alot more people as well. Stiglitz knows what he’s talking about, Nobel Laureate plus cheif economist at the IMF who was extremely critical of their operations, he mertis being listened to, along with Peter Schiff, Jim Rogers, Marc Favber, Nassim Taleb, Rick Santelli, et al…

Yeah… Al Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize by a bunch of guys who didn’t know if global warming existed or not but who just felt like being nice to him. Doesn’t make a lot of sense does it?

@ITILII Stiglitz was an economic advisor to Obama during the campaign and thinks he invented information asymmetry. Therefore take what he says with a grain of salt. Although I agree that we are in a lot of trouble.
@verndewd Economics isn’t a real science. As 5 different economists a question and you get 6 different answers. They are also terrible at making predictions.
