@eshnajizzle — Boy, are you wrong. It’s not just like all the other “committees”. The other committees don’t take away the right of congress to debate, amend, or filibuster on ALL bills before them. And, congress has NO right given to it in the Constitution to create a totally new “legislate body” (i.e., meaning it’s NOT a “committee”). Also, the Patriot Act has many unconstitutional parts and is corrupt, but it has not been “voted down”, as you would say. It was EXTENDED…forever it seems.
@eshnajizzle — Maybe you can’t see a “pattern of usurptations”, but the colonial fathers did, and so do many people today. You’re just not one of them. Rockefeller tells you what they are doing in his book. Then without clear cut video evidence of that famous ejaculation, you do not think Bill Clinton’s sperm was on that girl’s dress. Okay for you. Just don’t try to make any of us believe what you make yourself believe so you can feel safe and can sleep well at night. Pleasant dreams, sheepy.
@eshnajizzle
Just like its probably safe to say that previous congressional filibustering and amendments have prevented positive progress….its also safe to say that previous congressional filibustering and amendments have also prevent BS from being passed through congress.
As for SC allowing honest compromises to be made, well thats yet to be seen. Before you can make that assumption you have to consider the characters of the people within the SC.
@eshnajizzle
As for the “it can always be voted down” statement., well according those within congress whateva plans that the SC have in store cant be voted down by the rest of the congressional members. If they wanted the congressional members input/votes, then they wouldnt have created a SC to avoid their filibusterer and amendments. I know that congress passed all this BS….but keep in mind that many congressional members, Dems and Repubs, voted agaisnt it.
@eshnajizzle
My assumptions or pessimistic views are based off what Ive seen from our government. Its based off what has happened in the passed when congress agreed to give away some of their powers to the wrong people
Being a successful politician in America a hustle. Morals/integrity are rarely involved by those that have the most power. So yeah….Im not trusting this whole SC thingy.
@ChiTownHeadBusa
Yes, that is true. I’ve not made that assumption, but allow for its possibility. I have my hopes up, though, as at this point almost any decision will be better than no decision.
On the main issue, I don’t think that is grounds for thinking this is unconstitutional. The wisdom of the procedure is indeed arguable, but congress has not relinquished ultimate control of the decision. It has merely decided to follow a procedure that limits filibustering and the amendment process.
@mikeBEP777 I agree, seems these days if you believe the mainstream media your so-called normal, if you don’t your a conspiracy nutcase.
I like the idea of thinking for myself, otherwise you have no control over your future.
When you’ve got one side holding the entire operation of Govt hostage and not doing a damn thing about anything then something like this is required. The GOP and the Baggers are to blame solely for this.
Is the super Congress just a fancy name for Politburo?
It is plain to see by anyone who is observant that the USA and the entire world has very big problems. For humanity to arrive at effective solutions, it is going to require that we the people become increasingly open minded, and open to new ideas and different perspectives.
Vote for Ron Paul in 2012, Jesse Ventura in 2016, Peter Joseph in 2020, and John Hagelin in 2024.
Let’s become the change we want to see in the world. Let’s become the transition. Let’s become the revolution !!!
@mikeBEP777
Conspiracy exist. Those that talks about it are those who wants answers.
So they are not theorist, but someone who really knows what they are talking about!
They are the seeker of truth. they are the sane mind around! Listen to them more makes you much more educated in this crazy world.
Suer Congress is illegal thus anything they do shouldnt count
The super congress is a act of war against the constitution. One of many. Awake all those who took an oath to defend the constitution. This is your time. We are at war now with criminals in government who must be removed.
@Phil1stalk
1st -Judges are corrupt as hell because the know the law, and don’t follow it.
2nd -attorney’s are worse than judges and won’t risk their bar card on anyone’s behalf to piss off a judge or go after his golfing buddy DA.
3rd -legislators are lawyers, which is illegal because their bar card is issued by the judicial branch and they are not allowed to have duties in two branches at the same time.
4th – Each cop must decide for himself if a right is being violated, and if so, refuse.
@Phil1stalk
“Orders” are not the law, so “Just following orders” is not the same as “Just following the law.” Therefore if you are a cop, and you are following orders that violate the law, you are outside your authority and are no longer acting in a lawful manner. Who is right when two cops disagree? Who ever the jury decides is right when the criminal charges and civil suits come. Once someone believes he has been victimized by a cop, he should file charges and sue, and let a jury decide.
STOP THE UNDEMOCRATIC, UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS OF OUR WORTHLESS PRESIDENT NOW!
Stop the crooks in D.C by stopping the lies!!
Stop the lies by stopping the secrets!
National Security is a BS term used to lie to, steal from and persecute the people of America and the rest of the world.
The constitution granted these bodies authority based on the whole representation of the country, NOT a hand picked minority that has more authority then the original body.
This idea would be laughable if it wasn’t so anti-democratic and totally illegal!
This is a sad time in American history and it won’t get better until we make it!
Show the politicians what we think and vote out ALL incumbent’s in 2012
EPIC FAILURE. nah jk it was great. :)
@FreeinTX 5th Cops select which laws to enforce and are in cahoots with Judges, and attorneys. (No Rebuttal needed. I’ve seen it.)
@eshnajizzle It reduced the decision on anything financial to the minds of 12 members of congress + the president and both failed miserably in preventing the financial crisis(and dont say that nobody could have stopped it, I know at least two people of the top of my head who did years before it happened Ron Paul and Peter Schiff). And both branch have failed miserably in its recovering i rather 50 idiots working together than 13 at least with 50 it will take longer for stupid legislation to pass
@eshnajizzle Just as its easier to corrupt a room of politicians than corrupting all of America, Its EASIER to corrupt 13 people than All of Congress with both reps and senate you fool no matter how much good CAN come of it, more evil WILL. their is a famous quote i believe fits in here “absolute power corrupts absolutely” i see this as consolidation of power to a select few it’s gonna be hard to not abuse it when all you can do is say yes or no without trying to filibuster or amend!
@GrampysGoneWild it is?
In a word NO.
