There are some people who feel that George Floyd deserves to be commemorated on a stamp. They claim he is a martyr, role model and hero. They are currently trying to get a George Floyd commemorative stamp to be issued by the United States Postal Service.
A statement they issued: Commemorative stamps primarily feature American subjects, especially if the subject has a “significant impact on American history, culture, or environment.” George Floyd’s death represents an event of historical significance because this stamp will commemorate the positive contributions made by millions of Americans.
Do you agree? Would you like to see George Floyd commemorated on a stamp? Make sure to share your opinion here: https://www.quora.com/unanswered/Would-you-like-to-see-George-Floyd-commemorated-on-a-stamp
Yet you will vote a morally bankrupt person into the highest office in the land.
Laura, you must be talkin bout trump because President Biden has an exemplary career and has done more for minorities in his last year in office than trump has done in his entire 4 years.
No. i would not like to see George Floyd on a United States Postage stamp. I do not consider him a martyr, role model or hero. I admit his death has sparked a social uprising and a call for justice, but he, personally, is an atrocious human being, certainly not deserving of a postage stamp.

Well if that’s the case let’s issue a Bernie Madoff postage stamp, or a Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby stamp. They certainly made a “significant impact on American history, culture, or environment.â€
While I agree that George Floyd’s death was a murder by bad cops, I do not agree that it was a racist killing. I furthermore do not believe that the police, or America for that matter is systemically racist against blacks. I DO however, believe that some cops are way out of control, perhaps suffer from PTSD and should no longer be on the force. Take a look at some videos of cops torturing, beating and killing white people and you will see it’s not a cops are to racist thing, it’s a some cops are too violent to everyone thing.
By the way, if the actions of some bad cops means that all cops are bad, does that mean that the heroic actions of some good cops means that all cops are good? Do the actions of some violent Black Lives Matter members mean that all BLM members are violent? If you are going to think that way about the police, you should probably think that way across the board… Or, better yet, judge individuals rather than an entire group based on a few bad apples. Doing so will make it much easier to create change. You can not disband the entire police force. It’s a silly notion. Don’t waste your time and effort. Instead, work on changing the police force, get rid of the bad players and make what you have, better.
Again, I reiterate, I would not like to see someone that started in hardcore porn films, held a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly after breaking into her house and has been a violent criminal his entire life to be commemorated on a United States Postage Stamp.
George Floyd tried to buy food, the teller called the police on him because he was black and the police murdered him because? . . . yeah, because he was black. There are far less worthy people already on a stamp than George Floyd. I will be the first person to buy a roll of George Floy stamps!
