It pains me greatly to say what I am about to say, but the United States is in its death spiral- as we know it that is. I could fell this crap coming last year, and was going to withdraw my 401k money and pay off my house. I was advised that I would be making a huge mistake. Now I’ve got nothing but 24 years of mortgage payments. Trust your gut. Piss on the “experts”.
The liberals already took a lot of the pensions and savings plans and squandered them while there were obscene bonuses going out on Wall Street. Guess who led the pack? Read how much the pension plan was lost in NJ thanks to ex-Goldman Governor in NJ. At least he’s true to form. He lost a ton of $ in Goldman and did the same for NJ. Now they’re trying to save pensions? It’s an insult that our leaders can’t be more responsible with their duties.
Think about it… in 2016 the first baby boomers will be REQUIRED to withdraw funds from their 401Ks. By law, there will be a massive excedus starting then. It’s really very scary. Invest your own money. Remember that a 401K is tax deferred, it is not free from tax. You will have to pay the taxes at one point or another.

Keep the 401/457 plans out of the govt’s hands and eliminate all penions and annuities for unions. They are too costly and are only entitlements
The paper today: Principal Financial Group for 2010 to mandate a 401/pension plan called 401DBk. Companies will be required to establish a pension fund to pay a worker in retirement up to 20 percent of that individuals average annual pay recieved during the last few years of work. Doesnt sound like it pays out much yearly. Is this DB 401 K a confication plan? Alex?
