Bring back Witch burning and human sacrifice.
I should get 100 thumbs up for this.
“be seeing you” is a good one.
I know a few folks who have a “Have A Seat!” ringer on their cell fones… who will text or email it to me so I can load it to my fone?!?!?!?
How about the Vulcan greeting, but with the back of the hand and the thumb held in? V for Voluntary.
Shrine of government victims?
How about using free staters for human sacrifice?
Oh crap, you already stole my idea.
It’s the flying spaghetti monster.
They would want to pick virgins, nothing like a virgin sacrifice to get a Liberty movement energized.
Well, that would qualify most of the free staters for sacrifice.
This is excellent. They’ll be on their way to becoming a true cult in no time.
You haven’t had an original idea since you were born. Vapidity is your specialty.
The word ritual carries quite a stigma with it.
How about carrying the constitution in our right pocket.
that sounds good. I like the camera idea too. but then again im not from NH so my input dosent really matter.
how bout pooboy learns the importance of human life and quits bein a troll.
Which is why it’s perfect for these guys.
All human life is sacred, unless they’re libertarians.
Doesn’t bother me though. I’d roast marshmallows on your funeral pyre.
How about a 3 stooges slap for a fellow member?
I like the porcupine “gang symbol” as well.
Gangs usually also have slogans or short phrases that they say a lot. For example, the marines often say “hoo-rah!” as an expression of enthusiasm. The navy seals say “hoo-yah!”, and the Hell’s Angles say “TCB” which stands for taking care of business.
During the Ron Paul campaign one of my friends or I would sometimes exclaim “Ron Paul!” and everyone else in the group would echo it back, “RON PAUL!” It was similar to how marines say “hoo-rah!”
I’ll even say “RON PAUL!” to a stranger if I see that they have a Ron Paul bumper sticker or something like that, and they always raise their fist and chant it back.
It feels very unifying, which is why gangs and the military does it, and that’s why I think it’s a good idea for the Free State Project.
I think that, “Live Free or Die!” would be the easyist phrase to agree on, and if that’s too long, than “L-F-O-D!” or “Free or Die” or “F-O-D” could be used.
What about a holiday? Holidays are awesome reinforcers of human behavior. MLK day was started only in the 1980s and a few years ago I got a day off from class and they served fried chicken in the cafeteria. Certainly liberty types could create something.
Please not Guy Fawkes Day. Guy Fawkes wasn’t an anarchist-he was a religious lunatic that wanted to replace the current state with theocracy.
From The Prisoner, “I…be seeing you!” accompanied by salute from the right eye, with the thumb and fore-finger touching and other fingers extended…
or Spock’s “Live long and Prosper”
LOL, I already know people who do both.
Thumb out, ring and pinky down: looks like a gun, only if you’re pointing it at someone. Otherwise it’s just an inanimate object.
Also, be sure to find out if the minions of drug cartels aren’t already using it!
I’m in favor of what I term “The Prisoner’s Salute.” I’ve been doing this to say good-bye to people for about a year (nearly without fail). It has gotten me a lot of attention, and now a few people are even doing it on their own, independent of me.
For an explanation of where this gesture originates, see Gardner Goldsmith’s analysis of the Prisoner series, which he did after Patrick McGoohan died.
