I had an officer in Costa Mesa, Ca offer to take my cashed paycheck after he pulled my wife over for no reason. I explained it to him tnhat I would be taing him as a prisoner in my car to hjis desk sargent along with my employer as a witness as to where my money came from. The a-hole changed his mind about things along with the 2nd officer at the scene. Sorry, I am intollerant of B.S. in the city where I live.
So if you are traveling with cash and it’s legal cash the officers can take the cash and then you have to pay a lawyer, court costs, etc.etc. to get your cash back?? OUTRAGEOUS!

These ‘asset forfeiture’ laws are unconstitutional and these porky pigs admitted on camera that they “compete” to steal money from citizens. These crimes have been going on along I-10 in Louisiana for over a decade. Maybe the TN congress will put an end to this but its doubtful. The war on drugs is really just a way for corrupt fatso cops to fatten their wallets.
Just seen this, In 1999 .DICKSON COUNTY..I was stopped for going 3mph over the limit on I40 ( MAURY tags)..went to HAZARD court ..I mean DICKSON county court along with 160 other ppl that friday n met BOSS HOGG n the rest of the court officials..Im English n at least DICK TURPIN had the decency to have a MASK when he robbed ya!! protect and serve MY ASS!.highway robbery PURE n simple!

It starts with consent. Some stranger in a blue suit begins questioning U & U fall all over yourself licking his boots so you don’t get in trouble. Are you in a position to be in trouble because you’ve done wrong? If not, then why are you consenting to searches & questioning? People consent to everything, you can hear the moron saying yes search my stuff in the video, like that is OK behavior to let a stranger go rifle (pun) thru your stuff. It starts in the 2nd grade principals office.
What happens is the money is used for overtime so that the cops can make 80K or more per year plus they get to go on vacations with the money in the form of conferences etc and they buy the latest toys for law enforcement, no one screams that the taxpayers are being robbed. .They are being robbed but it’s a select few of them. Remember these cops will tell you…I’m not making that much…but they are !!!!

@measl Its understandable that this anti police hit piece can deceive people. Reality is that the Koch Brothers fund the InstituteForJustice. Since Koch industries is a private corporation, it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if they aren’t involved in funding the drug trade and they are getting hurt by the Tennessee police. You will notice there are no victims of civil forfeiture interviewed, something I would expect to make the case police are abusive.
