Under federal law it is ALWAYS permissable to film a police officer on any street , in a store , residence etc . They are public servants so it goes with their job . Officers MAY NOT interfere with you recording them . He won’t arrest him because he would get in trouble as it would be an unlawful arrest and subject him to lawsuit and or disciplinary action .
I wish the guy had two BIG pitbulls with him so they could have ripped those pigs to shreds!

All you need is a High School education, and they give you a license to Kill ,,,what do we expect? Cops usually count on the fact that citizens don’t know their rights. The scariest thing to a cop is a law student, or lawyer so my advice would be lie your ass off, and tell em your uncle is a judge. Seriously though cops have a tough job, and 80% are still chill, but that 20% needs to be watched. keep up the good work

Basically, cops get a little book on law, just a tad over a few hours of class and they learn the rest in action.
The training for border patrol is even more sub-standard than that.
Have some fun, next time one wants to play expert on the law, ask them on film if they can quote 5 sentences from the declaration of independence roflol…….painfully laughing for days on that one 9 outa 10 times :-)
The best thing to do is video tape them from across the street. NEVER walk up to the scene and say you want to video or talk to the suspect. You are asking for it. If you walk up to the area, you will be “interfering with the duty of an officer. Therefore you are under arrest. The idiot broad who walked up to the homeless guy and and got in the middle of it, is a dumbass! Do you walk up into the middle of cops questioning someone and ask the suspect if he’s OK? Dumb thing to do.
Seems like the revolution is beginning in small police encounters… like aliens sightings… real but not seen by the masses :-)

Stepping backwards away from the cop was hilarious! The American public is under constant surveillance 24 hrs a day. There are traffic cams and surveillance cams virtually everywhere these days. If there is a law on the books that prohibits filming the cops, I find that outrageous. This is what happens when a society gives up its Liberty in exchange for a false sense of security.
My cell phone has no camera. I should just start holding it up to cops, so when they’re like, “HEY! Whad’eryou doin!?” I could respond, “Nothing.” “Lemme see that!” “OK.” haha
