My heart was broken when Broderick was senselessly murdered. I never got a chance to say things that needed to be said or to say goodbye. I continue to miss his smile. Though I still cry at times thinking about him..I’m also able to smile because he was so funny and silly. I will cherish memories with him forever!
I miss you Broderick and good Luck to Mrs. Dixon and her efforts to make a change in the legal system.

I’m glad that someone finally cares enough to do a story this because being a young woman i feel like people need to know how our positive young men are taken away from us do to a relationship gone bad and how the people that suspose to protect and serve are getting away with murder and system is allowing this to happen. Please Mrs. Wade follow up on this story maybe the people of Alabama will finally change their laws or at least Mrs. Dixion will get some type of justice.
Perhaps, “protect and serve” crossed his mind in the form of a selfish question when we shot (not only to disable but to kill) Broderick Dixon. I pray that the immature Alabama legal system considers the victims in this case. Broderick Dixon and his family deserve to have their voices heard. Deborah Dixon deserves to have her message heard in the mediation of his murder trail and to have that message reflected on the pages that dictate the Alabama law
I can only wonder if Finley thought of this as the promise he made to himself, his family, his department, and his community.
I have to witness the unbearable pain that his family endures each day because of their tremendous loss. Broderick was a great person with a big heart and a beautiful soul. His family deserves justice and peace. I am just praying that in April, the next trial date, justice will be exactly what his family gets!

I still cannot believe that something like this has happened. I know the family personally and I am extremely saddened by this horrific act. How can someone get away with gunning someone down?! How can he get away with murder? Is it because he is a policeman?! It is really upsetting to know that he can get away with taking someone’s life without any realistic reason. I mean, he got out on bail while Broderick’s family was still making arrangements for the ceremony.
This needs to change. That’s just not right we need more people to get up and stand up for people that have lost their lives to senseless crimes like this one don’t wait until it happens to you or one of your love ones to speak up now is the time to fight for justice for everyone that has lost a loved one to a senseless crime. I think that we all should join forces with Mrs. Dixon and make sure that Broderick’s killer is placed behind bars where he should stay for life.
This is a man who did something with himself his life and went on to finish college and starting living his life, he just life the average American dream. I think that when someone dies due to a tragic like this it should get world wide coverage, this young man was killed by an officer of the law that took the law into his own hands. Just because he’s a police officer doesn’t mean that he should be allowed bond, but then again in Alabama the law is he can walk because he made bond.

I really feel that this is a story that’s not getting enough attention by the media in the state of Mississippi. Broderick is a native of this state he was born and raised here and he’s not getting the recognition that he deserves.
There was this white guy who shot a highway patrol in one of those counties and got let bond than Chevis Finley. That just like a black child go missing, do u see his / her picture posted all on the news, but let it be a white child, immediately there’s an amber alert. My thing is in God eyes we all are created equal. When Jesus died on the cross for us, everybody color became red, the blood He shared for all of us.
First of all it is sad that we are killing each other. But let that have been a twenty-seven year old white male or female that was gun down the way Broderick killed, his bail would have been set a millon dollars. Say for instant Jackson, u can commit a crime and be out the next day. A black person commit a crime in rankin and madison county, your bond is subject to be a millon dollars.

It is sad that Mrs. Dixon lost her son Broderick, I think that the justice system should treat everybody the same no matter what the color of one skin. Black on black crime to me is not treated like black on white crime. I know people say why always the race card, what do that have to do with it , it have everything to do with it.
As a mother, it’s good know that she is staying steadfast and continuing to fight for justice for her son and once that justice is served with Chevis, her fight will continue on because getting that law changed will help others that are victims of murder. I hope that this encourages more mothers and victim’s family to join in the fight for justice in updating that Alabama law.

It is sad to know that someone who took a vow to ‘protect and serve’ with the same mind would murder someone senselessly in a jealous rage. And then be back on the streets the same day after just paying mere pennies? I am an Alabama native and to know that the code has not changed since 1975 is sad. This should be revisited on a regular basis. The amount relative to 1957 was probably a detterant but today $75,000 is in no way a deterrant for a murder.
I still remember the last time I seen them together, if I only knew it would have been my last I would have made them stay longer. I am a mother and I would want the same justice for my child or anyone else child. I pray for my aunt and my cousins and I want them to know that I mourn for my cousin as well. I LOVE YOU RODERICK and we all will make it through this hardship moment. NICKKEL

I hope and wish that justice will be served for my beloved cousin and my family. They say its a sin to “hate” but I really hate that this tragedy happened to our family.

This was a tragety that happen to the Dixon family. His family deserves justice and I know that Justice will be prevail in April. This office was sworn to serve and protect instead he took someone life, nothing can justifies his action

This story has been touching to my heart. The Dixon Family should see justice served after a tragic death due to thier son death. When an OFFICER is sworn in its his duty to serve and protect the citizens of America on or/and off duty. It’s sad the way his life was taking. DON’T forget that he begged for his life and the officer gunned his down like a DOG. He showed no MERCY. May God be with this Family during their time of sorrow.
This is by far the best video tribute I’ve ever seen. I pray justice is granted & that the family, friends and all who knew this beautiful young man find peace. May God be with you all.
