Watching ever-mounting evidence on American war crimes, I’m shocked (also) by so many comments on the net attempting to excuse and often celebrating these events. The world was sickened by Abu Ghraib, but the human race is fast becoming desensitised. Shooting people collecting wounded. Blaming dying children… for being on the streets of their own city. Torturing puppies for a bit of fun between battles. The American military isn’t the only monster around, but it’s certainly joined the ranks.
