I agree and disagree with you, Ramsay. The Goverment does too much behind our backs, but what if all of our top-secret information were to be given out on Wikileaks and, say, Russian or China were to see what we were up to? Then what?

But this government is not a “Free Country,” its a Republic, if it was a democracy people would have the final say, not the senate, The House, or even the President. You also need to understand that all governments use the people, and in the end the US is no different. But what astrodude said is a good point, the leaked information could be used against the government and also could strain the relationships of the US and other countries.

I agree with most things you said and I’ll just add my 2 (euro) cents of wisdom:
You describe some kind of collusion between democrats and republicans, but you make it sound like a friendship at party level, while I think it’s more a personal thing. Politicians are buddies across the spectrum.

I don’t think the US is different from the world. I simply point it out in and idealistic fashion in videos like this to attempt to drive home the point to the people who DO hold the view that the US is somehow different as it pertains to government and the tactics thereof.
I mean, certain outspoken Americans tout us as being this free, idealistic society; which is not true. I attempt to point that out through presenting how it might work if it truly was idyllic.

The reason for the demonizing from both media, and the reactions of the American populace is quite simple. Thanks to the spin placed by major media outlets, once again the population is caught arguing about talking points rather than discussing the obvious corruption that WikiLeaks has exposed. Hell, the tiny fraction of people who have even bothered to discuss this can’t get over the “sex assault” that Assange was charged with.
I worry for the mental state of humanity.

@MrMattabater And I’m sure if enemies of the US found out about our projects, then there goes millions of dollars of funding plus risking ourselves as a Nation. To me, I could care less if America was enslabed or destroyed. We’re a dirty, filthy country who owes the world something in some form. Not to mention the entire rest of the World hates us.

Glad to see others think like I do; and yes, if a war wanted to be waged on our home turf then it would have already happened, but we’re talking about thousands of people dying from the ensuing carnage. As a non-patriot, I would not want to see thousands of people die on their Nation’s soil despite it happening all over the world. Africa, for example.
