The 391832 reports (The Iraq War Logs), document the war and occupation in Iraq, from 1st January 2004 to 31st December 2009 (except for the months of May 2004 and March 2009) as told by soldiers in the United States Army. Each is a SIGACT or Significant Action in the war. They detail events as seen and heard by the US military troops on the ground in Iraq and are the first real glimpse into the secret history of the war that the United States government has been privy to throughout. The reports detail 109032 deaths in Iraq, comprised of 66081 civilians; 23984 enemy (those labeled as insurgents); 15196 host nation (Iraqi government forces) and 3771 friendly (coalition forces). The majority of the deaths (66000, over 60%) of these are civilian deaths.That is 31 civilians dying every day during the six year period. For comparison, the Afghan War Diaries, previously released by WikiLeaks, covering the same period, detail the deaths of some 20000 people. Iraq during the same period, was five times as lethal with equivalent population size.

There exist only degrees of harm. Those who fight back in Iraq to defend their own country are loyal patriots – regardless whether they are civilians or paid soldiers. So, civilian freedom-fighters should be morally “allowed” to inflict as much collateral damage as paid gov’t soldiers do.

His UNBIASED findings were that Sadam had nukes, and was preparing to use them.

Tell me, when was the last time 66,000 American civilians died from a foreign occupier or in any war America has ever taken part of? Hmmm? Over the last hundred year history of frequent wars I doubt the American civilian death toll is even past 1,000. And that’s pushing it.
And no, the people killed on 9/11 we’re not causalties of war. But even if you’d like to act like they were, that only puts us at about 3,000 civilian deaths.

OK Hans Blix at the Iraq war inquiry.
Dr Hans Blix has told the war inquiry the arguments the US used to justify the invasion were “absurd”.
He says the US government was “high” on the idea of pre-emptive military action, and he has restated his view the war was illegal.
“I think the US at the time was high on military, they felt that they could get away with it and therefore it was decided it would do so,” he said.

This is kind of undermining the whole Iraq invasion. It might be questionable, but the Iraq now seems to have a more successful than the Iraq under the rule of Saddam. I just hope that the US doesn’t make another permanent base, because that’s the main point people have against US warfare.
