We were recently stopped by 8 LAPD units because we videotaped one of their traffic stops. We thought that after the Rodney King beating it was OK to videotape the LAPD.

ahahah idiot never beat a cop
16 jhear wooowowowo
i am currently fighting a battle with the sheriff’s&deputies in our little town. little does this deputy know i won’t let him get by with this. This deputy threw his 16 year old daughter against the wall, locked her out for 3 days, then kicked her out to come live with my daughter&i. when i asked for temp. guardianship, they flipped out. my 1st,2nd,4th & 14 rights have been violated! He got another deputy to lie in court & he got a child protection order on me! THIS IS PERJURY & BULLSHIT! IDTS!!
5) He finally let me go. On the way back I remarked to several of the police officers that had seen us, that their co worker was overzealous. Technically the officer had no right to manhandle me without formally arresting me & reading me my rights. But I shrugged it off, having had enough hassle. Sorry for the long rant, youtubers, but Im still ticked off.
4) The old man was on private property, & I was on a public sidewalk, away from the immediate area by then. I told the cop a lot of inappropriate police behavior was videotaped & posted on youtube nowadays, & I thought theyd be more careful as a result. The cop said I could arrest you, grabbed my left arm & escorted me through the accident scene. He let go of my arm & asked where I lived, what I was doing in this part of town, etc.
3) As I walked away I made a remark about the cops attitude to a bystander, like “wow, whats his problem?” The cop came after me & said “What did you say???!!” I told him & then resumed walking. Then a senior citizen asked me about the accident scene. I stopped & answered him, & the cop stormed over again yelling, asking what I was doing. I told him, & then the cop grilled the poor old guy. I said we were doing nothing wrong.
2) A burly police officer came over & said to move along. I asked why, since I was merely on a public sidewalk. He became angry & raised his voice, telling me it was an investigation scene & they didnt want people walking around. I replied I wasnt going near the damage, & that I was using an open public pedestrian thoroughfare they hadnt closed off. I agreed to leave, but told him that he would get more compliance from people if he was less abrasive.
Im 51, small, nondescript. I just experienced what I thought was some milder intimidation & over-reaction by a policeman. But Id like to hear opinions. I came upon an accident scene earlier, where emergency vehicles & personnel were present. A speeding car had left a swath of destruction along a sidewalk, before clipping a parked vehicle & then swerving across the road & smashing into a light standard. I walked down the sidewalk where other pedestrians were, & observed the damage.
There are bad cops just like there are bad citizens.
The problem is that the good cops and the good citizens get caught up in this corruption and in time can bread more abuse, just like the kid that sees abuse in the home, sometimes they become abuser too.
Cops need to recognise that there are more citizens then cops so they better show more respect to the public least they bread something they can not control like LA. 1990’s
To much power breads corruption.
It was just a mater of time before the tide changes . A month ago a irate citisen ran over to moter cycle cops in Boise, a week ago a man walks up to 4 cops in a shop and soots them in the head in Wa state.
Now don’t get me wrong but all the police corruption we see takes a tole om peoples stbillity and it’s only a mater of time before the tide turns.
Don’t trust the police to police themselves. If you think an officer merely acted in an untoward manner and may have violated department policy, then file a complaint at the PD. If you have reasonable grounds to suspect he broke the law or violated your civil rights, file a claim at the county prosecutors office!
so if a police officer can sue you for an accusation that is unfounded, the citizens should be able to do the same damn thing when they are falsely accused and arrested as well. I am glad more and more people are calling out the cops on their bullshit.
First of all I think the investigator was racially profiled. You know I would like to do these investigations myself. Whats this with the cop sueing you for a statement? Ok. then fine what if the cops statement doesn’t match mine? nevermind mine matching his. And, who decides this? His sargent? lol That corpral needs more training the captain said looks like he knew his own policy very well. Lieing to the people he’s suppose to protect and servre. Fire him
there needs to be a seperate agency to deal with complaints. The cops would not be able to protect each other and that could be a way to fight corruption.
it looks like sheriff offices are worse than city police departments. you can take the thug out of the gestapo, but you can’t take the gestapo out of the thug.
@HSN4now
90% are power trips and will continue to be until citizens stand up for their rights.
No those people usually join the CHP. Not Cops….
please take note that audio evidence can be easily counterfeited video evidence is the strongest, if you can, get a camera installed on the passenger side of your vehicle (interior) make sure it’s well hidden and can be remotely operated and stored on a remote hard drive. there’s no law against it because is a misconduct occurs, that would most helpful as video evidence speaks the loudest in courts and is most effective, make sure a time stamp is added so the times match on the ticket and video.
The cop was right many cops use unfounded complaints to sue people. Just look at that cop on Judge Judy he was on there at least 2 times. And he was from LAPD. Lesson is this, do not file complaints agianst police. Sue them..file human rights complaints, lawsuits, but never file a complaint. It was not serve you any good.
@Zeldagigafan90210 in 12 states it is illegal to film a police officer and can bring serious trouble on you. Check out “are cameras the new guns” on the internet
……….and I’m sure none of the complaint forms submitted end up in the dumpster behind the police station.
Intimidation, intimidation, intimination… always the same thing.
Do you believe just because the so called victim said the cop abused him that he is telling the truth? Just like you believe that the cop never lies. These complaints have three reasons to be filed one is to get the person out trouble and to make money. The third and most important one is stop the cop if he is abusing the citizens.
