Air composition in the Troposphere & Stratosphere is:
N2= 78.084%, (molecule)
O2= 20.948%, (molecule)
Ar= 0.934% (element)
CO2 = 0.031% (compound)
Air is a relatively stable homogeneous mixture of these and trace amounts of other elements and compounds.
Flora (living plants) absorb (need) the CO2 to survive and in return give off Oxygen for animals breath.

@thomastholin N2= 78.084% does not absorb heat also O2= 20.948% they are no greehouse gases. What absorbs heat in the air is just this tiny little bit of CO2. And that is exactly the problem. If you go from 300 ppm to 450ppm it is like turning the heater up one third. Nitrogen and Oxigen are irrelevant. And yes CO2 is good for plants. But that is not the problem. The problem is the heat absorbtion.
