Apparently telling the truth about the national debt is a little too “hot” for the major networks to handle. But perhaps it is time to tell the American people the truth. In 1986, the US national debt was around 2 trillion dollars. Today, it is rapidly approaching 14 trillion dollars. The American Dream is being ripped apart right in front of our eyes, but apparently some of the major networks don’t want the American people to really understand what is going on. The truth is that the ad does not even have anything in it that should be offensive. Oh right it’s because they cant capitalize on the ‘red terror’ angle that they can with China, not to mention their intention to play on people’s insecurities and xenophobia stemming from China’s incredible growth over the last 20 years. While parts of that may be true, the only reason China can be used as a scapegoat is because people are always flipping out over China. This commercial therefore wouldn’t create xenophobia, but would merely be a product of it. Therefore you can’t blame the commercial.

@UCSDEngineerDoctor My mistake I thought you were talking abut killing 100 million people in RECENT times. You do know the days of Mao are long over? However I do not dispute the fact that China does have serious humanitarian issues that needs to be resolved. Their repulsive actions towards Tibet and the Uyghurs for example. However that still doesn’t discount my main point that CHINA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT IS HAPPENING TO AMERICA and to blame them for it is plain wrong.
