Too many times too many people and organizations in Humboldt County have their basic state and federal constitutional rights violated. The Humboldt Center for Constitutional Rights aims to provide those persons and organizations who have suffered constitutional violations, in particular assault on the right to assemble and petition the government, race and gender discrimination and police abuse, pro bono legal representation and support necessary to right the constitutional wrong. The Center is a grass roots organization funded by individuals and organizations that care about human rights. The Center’s moral backbone is based on the principles and moral authority of the renown Center for Constitutional Rights based in New York. Its inspirational icon is attorney William Kunstler, one of the great freedom fighters of the 20th Century.
