One of the most glamorous poker stars on the scene is Liv Boree. Live is an up and coming professional poker player and the winner of the European Ladies Championship in 2008. Liv is a Kentish lass and is 25 years old in 2009. Before she became a professional at poker she studied Astrophysics at Manchester University, which no doubt gave her an insight into the stars. She is pretty bright too, and obtained a first class honours degree. Despite her current exploits she maintains a keen interest in physics.
Liv’s poker career started somewhat strangely with a UK TV show called Ultimatepoker.com Showdown’. This is a kind of reality show in which five novice players are taught by a group of poker experts as they play online against professionals. Liv was taught by Dave Ulliott and Annie Duke. This show must have given Liv quite a taste for poker and the following year she landed a job as a TV presenter working for Gutshot TV where she covered the World Series of Poker 2006 which was staged in Las Vegas. Since then she has hosted a number of other shows in the fields of both poker and music.
Liv did not become full professional player until 2008, but once she did she was very successful notching up big wins both online and live. When she won the European Ladies Championship she netted $30,000 and has made significant winnings in World Series of Poker events. Some other successes are 1st place at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
Not only is Liv a successful poker pro and TV presenter, she is also a successful model and has been features in Loaded. Apart from her career her interests are essentially having a good time, running, thunderstorms and skiing.
Liv is certainly an all-rounder and her poker career has got off to a flying start. We will surely hear more about her in the future.
