Now that Thanksgiving is over, Get Back to Losing Weight

Thanksgiving is over and that means the single day where you throw caution to the wind in regards to eating right and eating in a quantity that makes sense, is now over. If you feel guilty about it, don’t! You are allowed one day away from losing weight. Now you need to get back on track on your weight loss program and what better way to start then using those leftovers, well at least some of them anyway.

If you made a traditional meal then you have about 10 to 15 pounds of turkey staring you in the face along with stuffing, cranberry sauce and a slew of other food that needs to get eaten.

Start with eating just the white meat from the turkey. The white meat or breast meat is the best part in regards to being a part of your weight loss nutrition plan. Just remember to remove the skin. Hopefully you baked your turkey in the oven and not deep fried it.

If you made stuffing from a box, or my mom’s traditional recipe, which includes everything you are not supposed to have then the stuffing is off limits. It contains way too many calories. If you can limit yourself to ¼ of a serving size (which is the size of your clenched fist) then that is ok. But normal serving sizes of stuffing are out of the question.

Hopefully you prepared some green veggies like broccoli or a nice salad. As long as you didn’t smear your veggies in butter, cream sauce or tons of cheese then you are ok.

Now you are probably wondering what to do with all these left overs. Very simply, it’s time to call over the friends and relatives. Seriously, set one day out of the next week and call over people and have a nice dinner party. You can get another “cheat” day so as not to see all that great food go to waste.
